Participation falling in state’s sanctioned sports

Pending school board approval in January, the Scotland wrestling team will co-op with Bon Homme starting next year.
Scotland Activities Director Jim Kocer said all five wrestlers who are eligible to return next year are planning on joining the newly merged team. However, he thinks it’s a possible step toward losing the program altogether.

Study finds many S.D. coaches double as trainers, though many lack training

This fall, Mitchell High School began using a computer program to help manage athletes’ concussions. The program is called ImPACT, or Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing.
