Social worker helps homeless families find homes, furnishings

The first night in their Grand Forks apartment, Joe Rodriguez-Chapman’s four children slept altogether sideways across a double bed, even though there were enough beds for each of them. He and his four children now have a permanent address because John Fuher was on a mission. GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) – Some local middle schoolers learned the importance of living a healthy lifestyle on Monday. The program Ask, Listen, Learn was at Valley Middle School to talk about the dangers of alcohol. Kids were excited to learn about alcohol education.
Grand Forks has pockets with old, vulnerable pipes like the one that burst outside of Valley Middle School. Some pipes are larger water mains owned by the city, which has been replacing them when nearby pipes of similar age burst. But some are smaller hookups owned by individual property owners, who are forced to replace them when they burst.
School supplies, such as binders and paper are some of the biggest losses at Valley Middle School.
