Holy Cross is back in Grand Forks for the first time since that stunning the Gophers in 2006 this time to play a nonconference, regular-season series against UND (7:37 tonight, 7:07 p.m. Saturday).
Rocco Grimaldi is about to play for a World Junior Championship gold, but that’s not the only international tournament that has UND coaches smiling.

There won’t be any easing back into the schedule for the UND women’s hockey team. Coach Brian Idalski makes no bones about it: The next month could make or break the season. UND opens the second half this weekend with a trip to St. Louis to take on Lindenwood (7 tonight, 2 p.m. Saturday).
Shane Gersich, arguably the top uncommitted 1996-born player in the country, called the UND coaching staff Thursday night and gave his commitment to play for UND in a few years, surprising many from around the country.
