ST. PAUL – A federal bill banning synthetic substances that mimic traditional illegal drugs is now law.
Of all the new synthetic drugs alarming health and law enforcement officials in Minnesota and across the country, none has exploded into the culture over the past year as quickly – or as dangerously – as the human-made substance known as “plant food.”
The ad for the powerful hallucinogenic drug emerged on a foreign website in June, billed as a “research chemical” with the strange name 4-Meo-PCP.
