RAPID CITY (AP) A 16-year-old South Dakota boy who became lost while hunting and spent 16 hours alone in the Black Hills National Forest says he was scared but still managed to hatch a survival plan.
UPDATED 1:16 P.M.A 67-year-old man who survived for five or six days on leaves and creek water after his car plunged 200 feet off a remote mountain road was found by his children, who tracked him down like television detectives.
A 67-year-old man found alive days after his car plunged 200 feet off a mountain road built a makeshift camp, ate leaves and drank water from a nearby creek to survive, his daughter said.
Just as the first snowflakes of the season fly through the air, officials are urging North Dakotans to be prepared for the upcoming winter season.
