FARGO, N.D. (AP) North Dakota Republicans welcomed Ron Paul on Super Tuesday but have embraced Rick Santorum with 40 percent of the caucuses vote.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) Ron Paul waited outside in chilly North Dakota for several minutes without a coat Tuesday, fully expecting a much warmer reception from caucus goers in a state he thought might provide his first victory in the Republican presidential race.
Despite a final in-person pitch from libertarian Ron Paul, it was former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum who took home the most votes in North Dakota’s statewide Republican caucuses. As of press time, 68 percent of the statewide districts had reported in incomplete and unofficial results.
