The News Tribune publishes Matters of Record as part of its obligation to serve as a keeper of the local historical record. All items are public records submitted by the courthouse in Duluth, though minor infractions for which the potential punishment does not exceed $100 or include local confinement may be excluded. Most defendants are also ordered to pay court and/or surcharge fees. Individual requests for items to be withheld will not be granted.

Construction Zone: Northland Constructors’ office building
St. Louis County has to close its Miller Hill Mall license center for a month during mall construction, requiring Duluth-area residents to head downtown to renew their licenses in the county courthouse.
More than 100 people crammed into the St. Louis County boardroom in the Duluth courthouse Tuesday morning to thank Peg Sweeney for her 16 years of service on the County Board.
