United Way St. Croix Valley and United Way of Washington County-East chairwomen Cindy Jahnke and Joan Bever “launch” this year’s campaign at Stillwater Balloon in Lakeland, Minn., on Sept. 6.
The St. Croix Valley Community Band will present the following summer concerts. The concerts are free and open to the public:
St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice Program will be hosting a “Lunch & Learn” volunteer orientation & information meeting on Wednesday, April 11, from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. at the Restorative Justice Center, 215 N 2nd Street, Suite 106, River Falls.
All eight students attending the St. Croix Valley Radio Amateurs licensing class in Baldwin on March 23-25 passed the exam. They have now received their call signs from the FCC, and are officially recognized to transmit.
St. Croix Valley Fusion senior Hailey Rock gets around a Hayward-Spooner defender before getting a backhand shot on goal in the third period of the Fusion’s WIAA Sectional final game against the Hurricanes Friday night, Feb. 24, in New Richmond. Rock scored the only Fusion goal in a 2-1 loss.
St. Croix Valley Fusion goaltender Kalli Armagost turns aside a shot in the first period of the Fusion’s 4-3, overtime win at Hudson last Thursday. The Fusion won a pair of games last week to improve to 12-3-0 on the season.
St. Croix Valley Fusion goaltender Carlie Christensen makes a glove save in the first period of the Fusion’s 3-2 victory over the Cap City Cougars (Sun Prairie) at the Fusion Thanksgiving Invitational in Baldwin last Friday afternoon. The Fusion won two of three games at its season-opening tournament.
Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services, through its Operation Round Up Program, recently awarded $1,500 to the St. Croix Valley Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness chapter last month.
United Way St. Croix Valley has announced a Children’s Book Drive running Oct. 17 through Nov. 18. Donations of new and gently-used books for children ages birth to age six are requested. United Way St. Croix Valley will distribute the books to families in need throughout St. Croix and Pierce counties.
