Weekly newspaper the Hillsboro Banner gets new owner and old editor back

Long-time editor Neil O. Nelson is back in the saddle at the Hillsboro (N.D.) Banner after a change of ownership. He was editor at the Banner for a dozen years until being let go in April. Kelly Ink in Lisbon, which owns several other papers in the state, owned the Banner for nine years and recently sold to a partnership called Sub-Zero Press of Hillsboro, which brought Nelson back. NDSU students design winter survival app for smartphones

A computer engineering student from Virginia has helped design a smartphone application for winter travelers. The free app designed by 20-year-old Adam Koski and a fellow student at North Dakota State University helps motorists who are stranded in severe winter weather. It determines geographical location, calculates how long the vehicle’s engine will run on remaining fuel and provides emergency contact numbers, among other things. Continue Reading
