Shyla LaPorte, a fifth grade student from Plum City, is the Pierce County winner of the Agriculture in the Classroom essay contest.
Some leaders hold megaphones or stand atop soapboxes, but for one Plum City High School senior silence is golden. Heather Von Holtum, who walked in the Plum City High School graduation ceremony this weekend, has been called a silent leader by teachers and coaches.
By winning three sectional titles Spring Valley’s Zac Webster nearly led his team to the title Thursday in the WIAA Division 3 Colfax Sectional.
The Elmwood/Plum City prep softball team, now ranked 10th in the state in Division 4, came from behind not once but twice in Tuesday’s WIAA regional semifinal contest vs. Spring Valley and won in extra innings 7-6.
Spring Valley High School’s track and field teams didn’t run their first meet until the end of April even though the season began almost a month an half earlier. But Monday’s WIAA Division 3 Boyceville Regional the Cardinal boys and girls teams were finally at their best.
The Elmwood baseball and the Elmwood/Plum City softball team played close contestes against Alma/Pepin Thursday.
