CHAMBERLAIN Chamberlain School District residents will be asked to give their input on whether the city and school district should proceed with an events/performing arts center at a public meeting tonight.
The meeting, which is set for 7:30 p.m. at the high school’s multipurpose room, will allow residents to see the current $11.2 million design and hear from Jerry Claseman and Herm Harms of Puetz Corp. in Mitchell, Superintendent Debbie Johnson said.

CHAMBERLAIN Chamberlain School Board sent the latest design for an event/performing arts center back to the joint city/school building project committee Monday night to investigate a cheaper option.
Board members would like to see a center that costs between $8 million and $9 million, Superintendent Debbie Johnson said Tuesday. The center would be built onto the high school.
“They just don’t feel they can support it because the funding just isn’t there,” she said. “With the overall cost of the project, it was just too much.” Continue Reading
