Herseth Sandlin not really for S. Dakota
To the Editor:
How can anyone believe that Stephanie Herseth Sandlin voted against the health-care bill because she felt it was not right for South Dakota? Why won’t she sign on to the bill to repeal if that was true?
Nancy Pelosi had enough votes to pass the bill originally, so why would she need Stephanie’s vote? She knew Stephanie was coming up for re-election this year and voters were against this bill. Continue Reading

Report on new Palace released

Doug Dailey wants to make this clear: He’s a big fan of the Corn Palace.
Dailey, president of the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, grew up in Mitchell and remains a supporter of the palace on the prairie.
But he also thinks it’s time for a new, larger Corn Palace, with an improved visitor experience to lure more people here and make their stays longer and more enjoyable.
