This being Columbus Day, let’s see what we can discover in Neighbors’ mailbag.
Helen Rogers had some nice gifts for the folks at Waterford at Harwood Groves in Fargo. But there were strings attached. Lots of them.
Neighbors recently carried a story about the late Lars Birklid, better known as the Texas Ranger, an entertainer from Fort Ransom, N.D., who was a WDAY Radio star from the 1940s into the 1960s.
Those Woodchoppers sliced their way into the lives and hearts of many area folks.
The prize was $147. All you had to do to win it was call the radio station and correctly answer a question.
