A glimpse into military life and death

This post is about one particularly hard day, meant only to give you a glimpse of what it is like here and how we cope with what we see.

Parade starts at 10:30 a.m., ceremony at 10:45 a.m.
Into each life, a little rain must fall. But does it have to always happen during Rib Fest time?
Droves of people lined Broadway to see the Memorial Day parade in Alexandria on Monday. After steady downpours during Awake the Lakes on Saturday, the sunshine and light wind made for a picturesque tribute as the fire trucks rolled along and the Jefferson High School marching band strode down the parade route.
At 3 p.m. Monday, the nation fell silent.
WILMONT Flags snapped in the breeze, childish laughter rang out and the murmur of voices buzzed across Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont Monday morning as a crowd of people wandered the burial ground visiting gravesites and acknowledging the headstones marked with flags and the words that identified the deceased as a veteran.
A Memorial Day ceremony is held Monday at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar, Minn.
