Rebekah Speight of Dakota City, Neb., sold the three-year-old McNugget to raise money for a drive to raise $15,000 and send 50 children to summer church camp in Sioux City.
With half-moon shaped booths, low stools, wooden blinds and flat-screen TVs, most patrons might expect to pay $8 for a burger, or $4 for a smoothie. But the decor isn’t a harbinger of price. This is the new look of a remodeled McDonald’s, purveyor of Happy Meals and value deals as well as upscale coffee drinks.
Finding enough employees has not been an easy task for certain area businesses lately, but some establishments are engaging in a program that has attracted nearly 100 international workers to Dickinson.
Alice Pedersen,85,s hostess for McDonald’s on Main Avenue in Fargo,keeps the pop stand in good shape, picks up things from the floor and makes sure the garbage is emptied, greeting people and handing out her ever-popular mints.
