An intimidating phone call from an employee of the Mayport Farmer’s Co-op Elevator in Mayville, N.D., to a planning and zoning committee member is raising the already heightened tension in this town of 1,900.
Demands by town residents have been heard after the downtown Mayport Co-op Elevator voted to install air-filtering equipment ahead of a proposed expansion project. The board voted Tuesday morning to install the filter equipment, and hopes to have the system running by the end of the year, said President Richard Moen.
Dust and debris emitted from the Mayport Farmers Co-op Elevator has some Mayville, N.D., residents concerned for their health and urging the elevator to install dust control systems before expanding.
Contributors to “Authentic Voices,” a book of poetry and other writings about the experience and impact of childhood abuse and sexual assault, will read from their work at an open forum Wednesday night at Mayville State University.
