GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) – I waited an entire week before I darkened the doorway of the Grand Forks version of JL Beers. I think that showed incredible restraint and will power on my part
The newest addition to the Grand Forks restaurant scene will open Wednesday. JL Beers, well-known in the Fargo area, is set to open at 2531 South Columbia at 11 a.m.
Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday’s, CherryBerry also on their way. In addition to the influx of new chain restaurants on the southern end of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks landmark Whitey’s will reopen under new ownership next month.
Construction currently is underway on a new building that will house the eatery at 2531 S. Columbia Road, just south of Batteries Plus near Columbia Mall. Lance Thorson, a partner in the chain, said plans call for the Grand Forks location to open in early August.
Inside and out, the new JL Beers in West Fargo looks as if it were plucked straight from downtown Fargo and planted in an open lot at 810 13th Ave. E. a tan brick exterior, a long, slender profile, and even a soon-to-be-installed (and purely decorative) fire escape.
