Train hits tractor

Windom Towing operator Jed Knutson loads debris onto a flatbed on 390th Avenue after a Union Pacific train hit a semi-tractor and trailer loaded with corn that was pulling into Heron Lake BioEnergy Thursday morning. The crash split the trailer in half, spilling corn down the track, but the driver was not injured. A Union Pacific official on the scene was asked about the approximate speed of the train and replied “No comment,” then said, “Stay away from the tracks. We don’t want any more incidents.” There was no stop arm at the crossing. Continue Reading
