United Airlines plans to start offering two daily flights between Grand Forks and Denver on Oct. 3, the carrier announced Tuesday. Patrick Dame, Grand Forks airport executive director, said United flights to Denver would depart Grand Forks at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Departures from Denver will be at 12:40 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
How bad was it? This bad: Back in 1998, North Dakota was so desperate to lure another airline to the state that airport officials from Grand Forks, Minot, Bismarck and Fargo all cooperated to lure that service to Fargo.
Supporters of expanded air service at Grand Forks International Airport have argued it is underserved compared to other cities of similar size and could support another carrier.
United Airlines will add service to Grand Forks International Airport, according to a news release from Gov. Jack Dalrymple’s office.
