City open to relocation of adult-themed businessIt wasn’t a specific item, but the totality of the store’s adult merchandise that led East Grand Forks city officials Wednesday to judge that Fantasy’s couldn’t open in a commercial district, according to city administrator Scott Huizenga.
Owner says he’ll change offerings to comply with lawAn adult-themed store has been deemed too adult for the commercial district of East Grand Forks, according to one of the store’s owners. Jim Patterson, co-owner of Fantasy’s, said East Grand Forks city planner Nancy Ellis inspected the store’s sale stock Wednesday, determining it would have to move to an industrial zone.
The convoluted story of a new adult-themed store in the Grand Forks area took a few more twists and turns before coming to an abrupt stop on Tuesday.
GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) – Mayor Michael Brown responded to a letter Friday from the owner of the proposed Fantasy’s store who sought a building permit for the store at 418 N. Washington St.
GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) – Despite being turned down, the owners of Fantasy’s have once again submitted a request for a building permit. Co-owner Jim Patterson traveled from Fargo to Grand Forks on Wednesday to submit a formal request to the city.
