‘Xanadu’ kicks off season at Empire Arts Center

The film “Xanadu” may not have fared well at the box office, but on stage it’s a hit. The musical remake was released in 2007 and recognized as an outstanding new musical in 2008 by the Outer Critics Circle Award. It “took the general idea of the movie and made it better,” said Emily Burkland, executive director at the Empire Arts Center.
