In a closely contested race for the newly created Minnesota Senate District 4, Democrat Kent Eken of Twin Valley and Republican Phil Hansen of Detroit Lakes saw the lead change several times over the course of Tuesday evening.
Like many of the races throughout the state of Minnesota Tuesday night, it was hard to say with certainty if the voters of the Frazee-Vergas School District passed the operating referendum until all the votes were reported.
Jackie Buboltz was the top vote-getter in the race for the Detroit Lakes School Board, in which four candidates competed for three seats.
