Former Congressman Earl Pomeroy is receiving an honorary Doctor of Letters from UND Saturday, joining the likes of legendary National Basketball Association coach Phil Jackson and President John F. Kennedy. So how does one go about getting an honorary degree at UND?
Former Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., will receive an honorary Doctor of Letters degree during UND’s spring commencement in May, the university announced today.
Earl Pomeroy said today that he’s focusing on his new law career in Washington and is not now thinking about political office.
The long-serving “Team North Dakota” the state’s three Democratic members of Congress who served together since 1992 is a team no more after Sen. Byron Dorgan’s retirement and Rep. Earl Pomeroy’s Election Day defeat last year.
