After dinner and a stroll through the Midway on Friday, Aug. 26, my friend Ruth Creasey and I were lured to the Freedom Stage by the sound of old time hymns sung in wonderful harmony by the “Happy Memories Band,” playing from 7 to 8:30 p.m. What a pleasure it was to hear these rich voices actually accompanied, and not drowned out, by the guitars and instruments on stage.
