Community fish house is ready for anglers

January 8, 2011 in Park Rapids Enterprise

Members of the Park Rapids chapter of the Minnesota Darkhouse and Angling Association are now welcoming fisherfolk to the big red angling house on Fish Hook Lake. The house, to be available from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, holds all the ice fishing necessities. Fishermen are asked to simply bring bait and lunch to the heated fishhouse. Registration for use may be completed at Smokey Hills Outdoor Store, where the key will be available. Holes will be open; no auger is required. Among the MDAA volunteers spearheading the project are, from left, David East, Mike Swanson, Terry Bliss and Albin Katzner. For more information, contact Swanson at 732-4893 or 218-371-1202. Rules for fish house use can be viewed at www.smokeyhilloutdoorstorecom. Families, senior citizens and other groups are invited to drop a line. Continue Reading
