A project to rebuild part of Columbia Road starting next year will expand it to six lanes. The Grand Forks City Council approved an option to widen Columbia to accommodate more traffic. The $11.66 million project will be paid for with federal, state and local money. The reconstruction will fix the deteriorating surface; widening the street to six lanes added $1.16 million to the total cost. Continue Reading
