“It seems like only yesterday,” columnist Marilyn Hagerty writes, “I looked out on the basketball court at Hyslop Sports Center and saw Gene Roebuck show up as coach of the UND women’s basketball team. It actually was 25 years ago.”
Bud Grant coached three of the Minnesota Vikings’ four defensive linemen with Pro Football Hall of Fame on their resume — Alan Page, Carl Eller and newly elected Chris Doleman. The Pro Football Hall of Fame coach did not coach John Randle, but followed his career.
The Minnesota Vikings will pay him the difference between what they still owe former head coach Brad Childress and what he will make as new offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns.
