Trash or treasures? City auction is Tuesday

Is one city’s trash someone else’s treasure? Some local treasurer hunters will find out Tuesday when the city of Mitchell holds its surplus auction sale at 5:30 p.m. at a city storage facility at 5951 Airport Road. “It’s mostly a bunch of junk,” said Finance Officer Marilyn Wilson.
There are vehicles, jewelry, DVDs and a plethora of other items. Ten vehicles are on the block, according to a list released by the city, including seven vehicles that were impounded by the city and three city owned vehicles that were deemed surplus. Continue Reading
