UND junior joins heralded choir Norway, will sing to the nation today
When he was about 10 years old, Jared Lennon visited his grandfather on the family farm near Winger, Minn., a farm started in the 1880s by their Norwegian immigrant forebears.
His grandfather, Gerald White, had invited relatives from Norway to the farm, too, and it disappointed Jared that the language barrier meant he could not speak to those newfound kin.
Today, on Syttende mai, he will sing to them and to all of Norway as a member of a Norwegian student choir featured on the national broadcasting system.
