What do you consider yourself a cook or a baker? For people who do little or no cooking or baking, there’s probably not much difference, simply because both are a chore. And if you asked professionals, the cooks would say those who cannot cook bake and vice versa.
Holiday parties can be a lot of fun. But they also are a lot of work, especially if they involve a sit-down dinner, which can take a lot of the enjoyment out of it for the host. My advice: Just serve appetizers or hors d’oeuvres.
I can’t think of any other day during the year that is more associated with leftovers than Thanksgiving. After all, when else do you have a refrigerator full of several pounds of turkey, a mound of mashed or sweet potatoes, containers full of stuffing, cranberry sauce, veggies and the like?
Turkey day kicks off a time of the year when it’s easy for people to throw caution to the wind and let healthy eating habits go out the window. That’s where a new cookbook I recently came across can help.
