Every table in the house was filled, the staff was frantically trying to get food and drinks to guests as friends, family and community leaders imbibed and dined Saturday at Players Sports Bar and Grill’s VIP night.

JACKSON Where do good hogs go when they die? If Kat and Bill Stephan have their way, good hogs go straight to the kitchen at Kat’s Hog Heaven, to be made into pork tenderloin, pork burgers, ham and cheese sandwiches and more.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries, a Virginia-based fast food chain, is tentatively scheduled to open in February or March in a strip mall just south of 32nd Avenue South in Grand Forks. 
It’s not competition from trendy new restaurants in the Miller Hall Mall area that prompted Bill Klinefelter to put the Ground Round Restaurant up for sale.
Upholstered chairs, plasma TVs and free WiFi will all be part of a new McDonald’s restaurant to be built at London Road and 21st Avenue East in Duluth.
