Bobcat Co. said it plans to expand its operations in Bismarck and to eventually hire about 200 more workers, almost 2½ years after the construction equipment maker closed its manufacturing plant in the North Dakota capital and laid off nearly 500 people.
Employment in Bismarck-Mandan was up or steady in 2010, with job growth in several sectors, including construction, health services and government.
Louis Keller, a self-taught tinkerer who helped invent the loader that made Bobcat a household name, died on Sunday at age 87.
