Temperatures dipped below 20 degrees Thanksgiving night in Grand Forks, but that didn’t keep shoppers from lining up for deals outside of local retailers.
Shoppers already started to fill the parking lot at Kmart in Dickinson before 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day prior to Black Friday shopping kickoff and the official start of the holiday shopping season.
“I had a little old lady jump on top of me and start punching me, all for towels.”
In less than a week stores will open their doors for some eager Black Friday shoppers. Some stores like Target are opening in the evening on Thanksgiving so that those who can’t bear the late hours have a chance at those hot deals.
Shares of Best Buy rose 3.4 percent Monday after surveys showed that consumer electronics — especially big TVs — were the hottest item on Black Friday.
