Tonight’s UND-Cal Poly football game at the Alerus Center won’t make or break the season for either team.
UND’s quarterback situation one game into the season appeared to be shaky at best. Its No. 1 quarterback, North Carolina transfer Braden Hanson, went down with a broken bone in his leg in the opener. The backup, Marcus Hendrickson, didn’t throw a pass last season.
UND has had its up and down moments during its five-year transition to Division I men’s basketball.
With less than 10 practices left before the season opener, the UND football team’s workouts took on a different look Monday at Memorial Stadium. Two-a-days are over and the focus has shifted to the opposition, as UND’s scout team gave the defense a taste of Cal-Poly’s offense.
In the preseason Big Sky Conference coaches’ poll, the UND women’s soccer team was picked to finish in a tie for last place in the 10-team league.
