This author’s comments on the issue with production cost imbalance, poor worker treatment and graft in third world countries is spot on. Advanced societies with their higher cost of existence cannot compete unless their governments stop the third world exploitation. So, be angry about this, but don’t let the drive to compromise our hard-earned and appropriate approach to regulation be sold out as a necessary benefit to create jobs.
Again, it would be far less damaging to pay people not to work than to shoulder the corrective economic burden of any of today’s lax regulation years in the future. Please see my comments under another letter writer in the opinion section.
