What could be a better place to learn about crop production than on the small-grain tour at the North Dakota State University Research Extension Center in Hettinger?
After loading up on a trailer, dozens of participants headed out to the plot area Tuesday to take in the presentations on small grains and pea varieties offered by NDSU breeders. There were also presentations on weed control and manure management.
“This will allow producers to learn about new varieties and how they perform in southwest North Dakota,” said John Rickertsen, research agronomist with the NDSU Research Extension Center in Hettinger. “They also will have the opportunity to interact with NDSU Extension specialists, scientists and plant breeders to answer any crop production questions they may have.” Continue Reading
