What in GOD’S NAME caused you to write “equally capable alternative — like Kristi Noem — .” These candidates WEREN’T EVEN CLOSE in capability and insight. Noem was driven to office through non-political far-right activist issues (read abortion). You’re comparing an erudite Georgetown-educated attorney to a dirt farmer with a high school education. Gimme a break. Write for a shopping news or something.
Hot debate. What do you think? 18 12
Yeah! The world needs more erudite ivy league lawyers in Washigton, Them simple minded country folks just got no sense. Doncha know.
Dirt farmers! The nerve!

Actually, Stephanie is both an “Ivy league educated lawyer” (although Georgetown isn’t in the Ivy League) and a “dirt farmer” having grown up on the farm in the Groton area. So, you get both with Herseth-Sandlin.

If they’re not “ivy-league” then they ought to plant some cause they’re at the top of the list for a quality legal education.
Nice to see ya here brother.

Kristi actually does have a college degree from SDSU. I think she is a fine representave for South Dakota.

I meant to say Kristi is a fine representative for South Dakota instead of “representave”. Stephanie never did represent South Dakota values. I hope she doesn’t win any more elections.

Please give an example of Noem representing SD and where Herseth did not

I think ‘Tupper’ is on point. I was not impressed with Sandlin-Herseth’s record as a representative, though agreed with ‘some’ of her positions. She was too ‘blue dog’ for my blood. I bet she wouldn’t think about background checks either. IMO she would be just a tinsey bit to the left of Thune. That is too much of a conservative block from So. Dak. in my book. Why can’t Democrats get a better candidate?

You are correct John on Sandlin-Herseth record and the ‘blue dog’ referenc but it also answers your own question on the Democrat problem…..they won’t get elected in SD.
