i posted this last week that Brandon cleared their field off and it looked really good. Drove by there yesterday and there was very little snow on it evevn after the recent snow fall. The city of Alex could have done it when the ground was still hard and it wouldnt have done anything to it. Im not surprised they didnt do more.

Interesting. I saw pictures of Minnetonka High School clearing snow off their turf baseball field with a Bobcat on Monday with hopes of being able to play this weekend. Also, Bemidji State was using Bobcats and snowblowers to remove the snow from their natural grass baseball and football fields last Friday.

I have a solution: get Al Gore in here to blow around some hot air about “global warming.”

My mistake. I meant to say Evansville baseball field. It’s not like you have to scrap all the way down to the ground. Get it within 2 inches and the rest melts in a day. Poor effort and excuses.

Actually Both Brandon and Evansville ball fields have had the snow removed. A couple families cleared the B/E fields, back on March 28th. The Boseks cleared Evansville’s baseball field with a tractor and blower and a pickup with a plow, I believe, and Lunds cleared the Brandon softball field with a tractor and snowblower, and skidloader. They did it early, when the ground was still frozen, so minimal damage, if any, was done to the fields.. I know the teams have gotten to practice on the fields, before this last snow. The kids are looking forward to finally getting to start the Softball and Baseball season!!

This article is hilarious, its high school boys baseball in mn, deal with it. Shovel all of that snow… next article will be “Russ H throws back out shoveling heavy snow, out for season” its high school sports, have the kids practice the fundamentals inside and hit the weight room, the can play ball in the summer.

The problem is the High School League has their tournament set for Mid June. So that doesn’t leave a lot of summer to play High School ball.
Now, if the High School League would do like Iowa, were the baseball/softball seasons starts in mid/late May and the State Tournament is in late July, the weather wouldn’t (shouldn’t) be much of an issue.
