“Koenen said the provision does not help businesses or other organizations that might have opinions on the issue”..so what? Who cares what business opinons are on a CIVIL RIGHTS issue? We didn’t ask business what they thought of desegregation in the South…
Hot debate. What do you think?

Before the vote on the marriage amendment in the last election we were being assured that nothing would change if the amendment failed because Minnesota law didn’t allow gay marriage anyway. It sure didn’t take the activists long after the election to try to change the law.

“It sure didn’t take the activists long after the election to try to change the law.” It never does, they were merely doing a “bait & switch” that way too many peope fell for. Isn’t it nice that so many people are “tolerant” for others that make a “personal choice,” that goes against human nature? I only hope they’re as tolerant when Jethro wants to marry his mule! And I think we have a law against that also at the present in Minnesota.

“I only hope they’re as tolerant when Jethro wants to marry his mule!” Dumbest statement ever. THE MULE DOESNT HAVE CONSENT. Same as why people can’t marry kids (or have sex with them. Another weak attempt at the slippy slope logic against gay marriage.
““personal choice””…when did you decide you were straight? what age? Did you have to rationalize it, or did you just “know” you were straight? There are physiological differences between gay and straight people…wonder how they did that with a “choice”
” that goes against human nature”. Actually they are acting on human nature…doing what their body tells them they find attractive and want to be with. Its not only humans that have homosexuality, but many animals have been shown to have homosexuality in their species also.

Still didn’t answer the question. When did YOU DECIDE you were not gay?
You clearly know nothing about sexuality. Its not a choice, but a continuum. Bisexuals are in the middle of that range.

Bi-sexuals are in the middle of that range??? Are you serious? They’re only half gay? Half straight? You REALLY can’t be serious with a B.S. statement like that! If you can’t intelligently explain the question, don’t say dumb things to try and prop up your beliefs. Middle of the range. That’s the FIRST time I’ve ever heard it explained that way. Middle of the range, oh my gosh, please explain what “middle of the range” is, and point me to the scientific research that backs that dumb a?? statement up!!!!

I suppose it would also surprise you that some people are born with no sexual identification at all. They are “asexual” or not interested in sex at all. That is also normal. That’s the way God made them so don’t be so shocked that there is a range of sexual orientation. The concept of ranges in human development covers the gamut of intelligence, hair color, height, and many other variables. Isn’t learning new things fun?

Enough of the “B.S.” and “dumb a??”. Facts mean nothing to you.

Apparently they didn’t learn anything from the mistakes of the R’s who stuck the marriage amendment on the ballot. DEAL WITH REAL ISSUES AND LEAVE THIS GARBAGE ALONE!

Ellamay can’t answer when he chose to be straight because he didn’t. No logical reasons have been given by him or anyone else as to why gay marriage should not be allowed.
Because same sex marriage is “unnatural” is one of the most ridiculous reasons the anti same sex marriage presents. Since when did Americans start rejecting things that were unnatural? Ellamay, I hope you don’t use an air conditioner, wear glasses, or polyester. If you want to start rejecting everything ‘unnatural’ please start there. Too bad, homosexuality is everywhere in nature, I don’t know if I can say the same about homophobia.
Marrying a mule? Again, because a mule has consent, legal standing, and can sign a marriage contract. Oh wait.
Lets not act like marriage hasn’t changed. Women are no longer considered property, blacks can marry whites, and divorce isn’t illegal.
