Of course Mayor Al goes to the typical “why don’t you run” line when asked about the pool. The article makes it look like the Citizens acted respectfully, while the elected officials acted like they have no time for citizen input. The city seems to like to spend money on other projects, why not just take a second look at it. What would it hurt?

Yup, it was a pretty poor defense. Don’t address peoples concerns, but act as if your the poor guy stuck with the job of mayor. Sounds like the council steamrolled along with the YMCA without figuring out the needs and wants of the community, or listening to other options. Kinda like the sale of the hospital too.

That cartel between the school the Y and the city is hard to imagine being lawful. They used the taxpayer’s money to build a pool that is practically unusable to the public. The city should stick to serving the people they work for and stay out of the business of business!
Hot debate. What do you think?
