WORTHINGTON At 4 a.m. Saturday, while most of the town was still asleep, Maria Felix, a Worthington resident of five years, was standing in line outside of St. Mary’s Church.

“A worker asked her basic questions, verifying her name, address and other details”.—–
I’m sure one of the questions asked was “Are you in Worthington legally”?

“ironic Pat uses a symbol that thousands of immigrants first saw when entering the US.”

First restrictive immigration law was in 1924. The major waves of Ellis Island immigrants occured before that law. How is someone LEGAL when no law was in place at the time? To say someone is LEGAL that would mean there is a law that could make them ILLEGAL. Before 1924, they were just immigrants (no title to legality needed), as my originaly statment says.

That’s incorrect Click. The first immigration law that had some restrictions on who could immigrate to the US was the Page Act of 1875. And there were laws regarding who could become a United States citizen with all the rights citizenship provides all the way back to the Naturalization Act of 1790. Regardless we do now have laws on the legal way to immigrate to the United States and the legal way to become a citizen and if you don’t follow those laws you are here illegally and are considered to be an illegal alien.

I don’t see anywhere in the article where it says that ICE agents were on hand to check people’s papers at this well-publicized event. So, if ICE is not concerned, what exactly do you have to worry about, pat e.?
Who are these people who give your truly ignorant remark a “thumbs up”? How big IS that pedestal, anyway?

“Who are these people who give your truly ignorant remark a “thumbs up”?”
The same ones who give your truly ignorant remarks a “thumbs down”!
Am I on this planet legally? What the heck does that babbling mean.
I’m not now or ever have been on a pedestal.

Please quit the two-person bickering matches, or the thread will be frozen and one or both of you may be banned. There’s been enough warnings.

Well then lets go with lawful immigrants then as opposed to the definitely illegal ones of today. There certainly are laws making illegal immigrants of the ones that swim here today.

There are also laws against aiding people who you might reasonably suspect to be illegal. It’s a felony.
I’m sure that applies for this consulate and maybe a few posters here as well. Ice has a web site to report such offenders.

You are absolutely right. It’s a good thing the public realizes that and continually hides the personal attacks. I’m sure the attackers know they are not liked but are trying to entice other posters into a personal battle so as to get them banned. It’s too bad their attacks are displayed so long and it takes so long to realize they shouldn’t be there in the first place!

I’m sure obama won’t let ice do their job. Obama is now releasing criminal illegals back into this country. To think there a people who voted for this rear-mongering terrorist! It’s also too bad the immigrants don’t realize he is just using them as a pawn!

Pushed that one out in a hurry after hearing the release news. Should have read Fear-mongering but on second thought REAR works too. Should be (are people)

Humorous Deano … the other day, on SayAnythingBlog, a guy typed presidebt when he meant to type president. He said it fit so well he decided not to correct it.
