Should study of a foreign language be required in high school or college?
I used to think so; now I’m not so sure.
After all, how many foreign-language students go on to advanced study of a language to become fluent enough to use that language in their lives? Continue Reading

Perhaps, there should be some laws required to have signs and instruction manuals written in several languages to accommodate those who don’t wish to assimilate. Think of all the jobs created to enforce the laws. And even more to search out anyone who feels left out when their language isn’t on a sign. And the sign industry could use some stimulus. JOBS, JOBS, JOBS. As they like to say in D. C. . And the problems that could be avoided. Why, just the other day, in Minneapolis, an undocumented woman didn’t know it was not nice to borrow a child from an acquaintance. And we wouldn’t need helpers at the polls to show people what box to check for promises of milk and honey. Yes, indeed, the promised land. Heck, a lot of those “tourists” sign their government checks on the back while we (natives) sign them on the front.
Hot debate. What do you think?

What I get a kick out of is the products made in China, sold in the US, and have English and French text on their labels.
