I hardly think Graham going after Hagel is the GOP feeding on their own. All’s one has to do is look at Hagel’s past comments, speeches, etc. to see he is nowhere near the GOP, he is much closer to the radical beliefs of the person that nominated him.

Why not compare apples to apples? Juan Williams wasn’t a Democrat politician. He was a commentator working for a business, not the government. Williams left NPR and “landed on his feet” at Fox News. Fox, just like NPR, parted ways with a number of their ‘stars’, including Palin and Beck. Nobody accused them of “eating their own”.
The GOP, on the other hand, has allowed the Tea Party and others to drive out their own sitting Congressman and women who didn’t ‘tow the party line’. It happened with Lugar in Indiana, to name just one. Another Congresswoman was defeated in the 2012 primary because she “hugged” President Obama as he entered to deliver the State of the Union speech! Lindsay Graham is scared to death that, if he doesn’t appear conservative enough, he’ll lose in his re-election primary next year. Those are more uncomfortable truths . Do you still think they don’t eat their own?
I’d give up the dig, if I were you. As my mother used to say, when you dig up dirt, you only lose ground.
