LETTER: Abortion is a ‘sin against the Creator’
February 16, 2013 at 6:00 am in The Daily Republic
Does God distinguish a death by abortion from a child murdered in a class room? In both cases, each breaks His commandment, “You Shall Not Kill.”

I am getting quite sick of all this anti abortion propoganda! It goes against personal freedoms, also religious freedoms. There is a place and a need for abortion in certain circumstances. If something can’t breath or eat on it’s own, it is not considered a living being. For some that believe in a reaping, good luck, your in for a very long wait….. the same thing has been said for over a thousand years. I am sick of religious groups pushing their views on others that are against the views of other religions, therefor, should not be anywhere near government.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Don’t you realize that most abortions are done by people that can’t even afford to have kids in the first place or the fetus has a genetic defect which neither wants to deal with or afford to deal with! I see it as less of a tax on the welfare system which is what 75% would have been on that taxpayers can’t afford. We have enough people on welfare, I wish welfare was eliminated. What would this country do with that many more in the unemployment line! If you want prosperity in this country, a lower number in workforce brings prosperity, get too many looking for jobs, it brings wages down, so I have no complaint about legal immigrants or ones that cross the border to work during the day in the south since they do end up with the lower wages that ones that grew up here often refuse or don’t like the work. The system works fine now, in all, Don’t tinker with something what works. I would be all for mandatory birth control for anyone on welfare.

“A lower number in the workforce brings prosperity” and I’m supposed to take seriously what you say? Of course that type of nonsense is mainstream democrat. Back in the 60s and 70s that was extreme left wing.

So correct me if I am wrong.
You view children as potential slave labor for your personal future and gain.

I never have had too much luck at getting slave labor out of my kids.

I have been so busy of late that I have missed all these wonderful discussions on the Daily website: the “evil” (?) of evolution and of reproductive rights,… all we need is a good letter or editorial reminding us of God’s love for the LGBT community and we will be back in full swing identifying all of the narrow mindedness and lack of critical thinking that can come with being a “good Christian.”

You haven’t missed anything. The merry-go-round continues to circle. The Republic continues to print the same letters and (to some) the sky is falling…….any day now…….any day, every day for the (depending on the issue)last 217 years, or 40 yrs., or 4 years.

In the smugness of “enlightenment” opposition to the killing of 50 million unborn babies is called “narrow mindedness and lack of critical thinking”. I hope I’m never included into the ranks of the enlightened in their search to make unspeakable evil palatable.

Narrow mindedness is forcing others to do what one thinks all should do… You are infringing on others religious and personal right to do as they wish by being antiabortion. You do miss the full picture. Abortions will always exist whether they are legal or illegal or in some cases the woman would end up commiting suicide if can’t get an abortion. This country is about the freedom to choose, not to force others into the views of the few.

So I suppose we should encourage suicide in the name of personal freedom to choose as well?

It is quite plain the culture of death that motivates the left. There is no sickening depth to which they won’t descend.

Yes, assisted suicide is so inhumane.

Why stop with assisted suicide why not just suicide in general? As another of your ilk stated on a similar topic, “There’s too many people in the world anyway”.I keep looking for that higher morality that the atheists and pseudo-Christians claim comes naturally to them, but have yet to see any evidence of it

Look, it’s getting off topic with suicide and I can’t argue with your “logic” because it follows the same as letting gays marry would lead to people marrying their cat……..it’s nonsense.

Having an abortion should be up to the woman. The only thing I would like to see is if the father wants to raise the baby for it’s entire life, he should be allowed a say in the matter.

As far as assisted suicide, if I’m laying there just suffering with no quality of life you can swear on a bible that assisted suicide should be an option.
