Water territory bill heard: House committee considers bill offering guidelines related to water disputes

Disputes between rural water districts and municipalities may get state guidelines from a bill considered by a House committee Thursday. The bill drew support from some North Dakota cities but was panned by representatives of rural water districts.

This may be somewhat off topic but the bill to fund Stutsman County Rural Water projects was passed with only three no votes, one being John Grabinger of Jamestown. Mr. Grabinger you are not a member of the Jamestown City Council, you are a State Senator,and one can only hope it is for one term.

Don’t forget Looysen and Haak also voted against it in the House even though the bill had absolutely nothing to do with the brewhaha regarding Titan.

Since none of the politicians from District 12 were willing to support HB 1269, I’m voting on this issue with my checkbook. I’m going to strive to spend less than 5% of my money in Jamestown. I’m sure there are a lot of businesses in the surrounding towns that will welcome the patronage.
