Minnesota Capitol flooded by gay marriage supporters as legislators consider overturning state law banning same-sex marriages
ST. PAUL Three mothers of gay men joined hundreds of others in the Minnesota Capitol on Thursday with one goal. Continue Reading

“Besides just opposing the amendment, Koenen said his constituents also tell him there are more important things to do in St. Paul, such as passing a new budget. He said he agrees.”-Yup, budget is faaarrrr more important than making human civil rights equal.

I’d like to believe that legislators can “multi-task”. They’ve got to get the budget issue sorted out as a priority, but certainly should be able to focus on, and accomplish, more than that.
If they’ve got time to write newspaper columns, they’ve got time to negotiate and legislate. (And we’re paying for the latter.)

For once I agree. The budget is faaarrrr more important. “Marriage rally draws thousands” the reality is that it drew 0.0003% of the STATE populous! Not exactly overwhelming. I guess the globe thought so. Hope that Click Red thing works for ya. Sure it will..

I guess you can gauge how “overwhelming” the turnout is by how biased you are on an issue.
If the same number of people had shown up at the Capitol to demonstrate for gun owners’ rights, you’d probably exclaim “Great turnout! That’ll show the control freaks!”
If an equal number of people had shown up at the Capitol to demonstrate against immigration reform, you’d likely scream “Bravo! Huge crowd! Take that, you bleeding-heart liberals!”
Am I right? The turnout wouldn’t seem so infinitesimal, would it, for causes YOU support? You’d certainly never call it “underwhelming”.
Anybody who tries to compare “turnout” to “total population” ( for ANY cause) has way too much time on his hands and is clearly focused on the wrong thing.

Deano likes money more than people…simple as that. Civil rights don’t pay his bills, so why should he care?

They are Red Clicking you because they don’t agree with you not because they are stupid as you insinuated. I believe same sex to be fundamentally wrong and money has nothing to do with it… evidently many agree..
