I’m exactly who this bill is aimed at. I grew up in the Mitchell area and now live out of state. I have to draw for a 10 day waterfowl license to hunt on my own land. As a result, I lease the land to one group of resident waterfowlers and all others are excluded.
If I were able to pay to hunt waterfowl the whole season, like pheasants, I would invite many more friends and local residents to join me. Now? just a few get to get in on the fantastic shooting. At least in my situation, the current regs have backfired on the intended purpose. Guess I’ll renew the lease again for this year!
