The DNR just consider this to be another form of getting some more money in the coffers. A cash cow if you will.

Trophy hunting disgusts me…and I am a hunter. Its killing for all the wrong reasons. If they needed to thin the population for sound ecological reasons…so be it. They got what they (apparently) needed. Lets hope this was a one time thing.

If you don’t eat it, don’t hunt it. I also see no point in trophy hunting.

I agree with the cash cow remark. I agree that it was a trophy hunt, I know of people who did fill out their permit and almost all of them were going for the pelt on the wall. What happens after this is anyone’s guess. There are always going to be predators out there and eradicating all of them to save your livestock isn’t going to work,
