There is no way the council should do this. They are still screwing around with the sewer issue that should have been taken care of a year or more ago. No more variances or extensions. The owners have no plans of complying.

Because of the rock, they need some deep pockets to get a sewer line in. I get a kick out of government entities- they put a lot of unnecessary rules and regulations in place that control business and then wonder why so many fail. Way too much government intervention as to how people can pursue prosperity and happiness.

They knew exactly what was there and the requirements before they ever took the property. Can’t blame the city for that.

Ok-let’s shut it down and let it sit empty like the Home Depot in Cottage Grove. They’re not making any money- the previous owners didn’t make any money. Yes, they’ve made mistakes. I don’t see any reason why the city can’t allow just the office spaces to be rented. They need to get the sewer done first. They also need to fill the slips with boats in order to be really successful, but this economy and gas prices have hindered that.
