Hey, I have a great idea.
Let’s outlaw guns…then the criminals and crazies will never hurt anybody….well….you know….maybe we should outlaw knives and cars and hatchets and baseball bats. Well, you need bats for baseball…we’ll just make everybody register their baseball bats….and axes, people use those for chopping wood, so we will register those also…and screwdrivers, those are kinda handy when doing stuff around the house, so those will just be registered, and knives, gotta carve that thanksgiving dinner, so we will just have to register knives also.
A Milwaukee area sheriff just encouraged everybody to learn to use firearms to protect themselves. He says with budget cuts as they are…calling 911 and hoping the police arrive is not a viable option.

Funny but there have been more gun deaths in the US since 1968 than all deaths from all the wars the US has fought.

If you read the whole article from stan giglio, you will find this information.
“We should note that these figures refer to all gun-fire related deaths — not just homicides, but also suicides and accidental deaths. In 2011, about one-quarter of firearm-related deaths were homicides, according to FBI and CDC data. Using total firearm-related deaths makes the case against guns more dramatic than just using homicides alone.”

Interesting isn’t it…how PBS, a supposed “neutral” news service, allows Shields to twist the facts to fit the liberal agenda.
I guess now the liberals can understand why conservatives want to defund Big Bird.
Not because Big Bird is not helpful or useful for children to enjoy. But because liberals like Shields have no trouble throwing Big Bird under the bus to foist his own fact twisting mind numbing ignorance on everyone.
Why should we be surprised, they are using the Sandy Hook tragedy in the same manner.

PBS was created with the rationale that most people had 5 TV channels or fewer to watch. Now they have access to hundreds. Problem is, no federal Government project is ever abandoned, no matter how anachronistic. Remember that the income tax was imposed to pay for WW I.

Ummm … The federal income tax does have connections to wars. The first came during the war of 1812 and then other versions during the civil war but ended up being thrown out on constitutional grounds. But the federal income tax in its current form followed the passage of the 16th amendment in 1913 before WwI and well before our involvement in the war.
